Orkney
Twenty five miles beyond the northernmost tip of Scotland lie the Islands of Orkney - 'The Sleeping Green Whales’ as writer, George Mackay Brown, describes them. There’s nothing very sleepy about them though. Big winds tear unhindered across the Atlantic often gusting past 100mph during stormy weather. Shaped by the light from huge skies, ever changing vistas unfold as the minutes roll by. Whether the sound of curlews on a gentle, northern evening, or the dash of waves against broad-shouldered cliffs, no two moments are the same. Welcome to a world where birds wheel in tumbling skies and the ocean is all around.
